Song-Sense uses Claude — Anthropic's advanced AI — to analyse your song's themes, mood, style and commercial potential. It matches these against its knowledge of artists, genres and music industry patterns to generate ranked recommendations. The AI draws on broad training knowledge of the music industry rather than real-time web scanning.
How is Song-Sense different from ChatGPT or Gemini?
Any general AI tool can suggest artists if prompted. Song-Sense is purpose-built for this specific task — providing structured ranked results, match scores, A&R contact information, submission etiquette guidance, and a professional interface designed specifically for songwriters. It also benefits from the founder's 40 years of music industry experience built into how the system is designed and used.
Does Song-Sense analyse my audio file?
Not currently. Song-Sense analyses song descriptions and lyrics. Audio files can be uploaded but the system uses the filename and your description for context — it does not technically analyse the audio content itself. Full audio analysis is a planned development for a future version of the platform.
How secure is my unreleased material?
Song-Sense processes song descriptions and lyrics only. Audio file content is not stored or transmitted. Your submissions are processed through Anthropic's secure AI system and are not retained beyond your session. As the platform develops, security protocols will be strengthened to meet the needs of professional users working with unreleased material.
Is my song data stored or shared?
No. Song descriptions and lyrics submitted for analysis are not stored by Song-Sense beyond your session and are never shared with third parties. Please refer to our Privacy Policy for full details.
How accurate are the A&R contact details?
A&R contact information is generated by AI based on publicly available knowledge and may not always be current or complete. Labels and personnel change frequently. Always verify contact details independently before making any approach. Song-Sense is working toward verified contact data partnerships to improve accuracy over time.

Song-Sense was created by Michael Symonds, a music industry professional with over 40 years of experience across A&R, artist management and the songwriting community. It was built using AI technology by someone who deeply understands the creative challenges songwriters face — not by a team of data scientists, but by someone who has lived this industry.
Will Song-Sense improve over time?
Yes. Song-Sense is in its early stages. Planned developments include verified A&R contact data, audio analysis capabilities, an expanded songwriter database and a full two-sided marketplace.
